1) Seaweed Salads

If you thought 2015 was all about kale, 2016 will be the year of seaweed. Seaweeds are some of the healthiest and nutrient rich plant foods available to us. They can be grown in almost any marine environment, are easy to cultivate and help to reduce agricultural impacts on the land. Seaweeds are the perfect addition to salads and soups and are extremely versatile. In fact, several Michelin-starred chefs are cooking with seaweed and manufacturers of processed foods are substituting salt with seaweed as a healthier alternative.

2) Matcha Tea

This green tea powder is whisked into hot milk or water for a tasty, stimulating and refreshing beverage. Matcha is super charged with up to ten times the amount of cancer fighting antioxidants when compared with a traditional cup of tea.

3) Natural Therapy and Pain Management

natural therapy and pain management

There is a move away from pain killers towards natural therapies. As a Chiropractic Clinic, we know the many benefits that chiropractic offers patients, including being 100% natural. Communities around the world are turning away from over prescription of drugs and medication and considering natural therapy or alternative medicine for their health care. Did you know that in the United States there is an 'epidemic' of opioid painkiller use, abuse and overuse. In 2013 there were 16,235 deaths involving prescription opioids with total drug overdose deaths totaling 43,982 (up 6% from 2012). The American Chiropractors' Association has been facilitating public discussion on ways to heighten awareness of conservative approaches to pain that can potentially help people lessen their dependence on opioids.

In 2016, why not try give chiropractic, massage, physiotherapy, yoga, meditation or acupuncture a try. The natural therapy industry is growing year on year due to increased public acceptance and demand for therapies that are either alternative or complementary to conventional Western medicine.

4) Mineral Supplements

Functional medicine doctors say that 80% of us are deficient in minerals. Try colloidal minerals as they contain trace amounts of the majority of the required mineral spectrum for health and wellbeing. You can also experience epsom salt baths, topical mineral oils or mineral based skin treatments.
